The following coastal piling foundation based building plans are designed for SIP* or Wood frame construction. (*Structural Insulated Panels - www.coastalsips.com)

PLAN#6: ECO has  engineered a number of coastal site homes that were built low energy Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) homes. All did extremely well against Ike. Those projects included this small SIP home design on a piling foundation. This home was built on Galveston and survived both the hurricane winds and the storm surge with flying colors. That's because SIP homes are strong and rigid! This 'ECO-COAST1' plan is 100% complete. (3D BIM Model by ECO)

ECO also supports light commerical and industrial projects. This is a recently completed commercial project design is for a coastal sailing club. The rear view 3D rendering was created from ECO's Revit Structure building information model.

The above mentioned sailing club started construction in November 2009. This front corner view photo shows it nearing the SIP roof panels installation in mid April 2010, which will be structural completion.

ECO's use of Autodesk Revit allows stage by stage rendering to simulate and confirm each construction step, tracking each of several unique structural and durability features as they are added to help it last several lifetimes.

PLAN#7: Due to a perceived lack of small green coastal plans, we helped  create a handful of small low cost green home coastal plans. These are simple smart strcutural shapes based on a SIP construction.  All are designed on piling foundations which allows finished floor heights from 6' to 18'. All are also Solar PV ready. This 'ECO-COAST2' plan is 90% complete. In order to be able to keep up with our high standards of service, we need a little more time. (3D BIM Model by ECO)

This next house was designed by Architect Jill Bryant and engineered by ECO (we added the solar panels and wind generators to our model). This structure uses a new type of compositie piling manufactured by Pearson Piling, with connection components designed by Eco-Holdings.

This is our most recently completed two-level piling foundation coastal design was structurally converted to a SIP structure. The design originated with the owner and was modified to their wishes by ECO. It will be built on Bolivar Pennisula in the Crystal Beach. This plan has front and rear two level decks.

Seabrook3 is a narrow lot building structure split into a top residence level above a middle rental apartment level. A mid deck level provide etra deck space for entertaining. Each floor has both elevator access and stairwell access to grade.

The 'ECO SAIL1' plan was an early coastal concept. This unique look small beach house has a 4-sided 10' wide wrap around porch. The structure has just 1024 sf of conditioned space on a 32' square building footprint. The roof's drip edge falls to  a 52' square footprint.

The simple but dramatic windstorm resistant curved roof can be accomplished by curved steel beams or by curved glulaminated wood beams. Either type of roof would rest on a SIP wall and floors. The foundation can be either by treated wood pilings or by reinforced concrete poured pilings. The finished floor elevation be varied from 8' to 20' above sea level.

PLAN#1: ECO-CABIN is a new 'Indoor-Outdoor' design with two bedrooms, one bath, kitchen, and living room in 784 sf. Fully outfitted it adds another 500 sf of deck with outdoor dining, warp around bench seating and a full outdoor Kitchen.

ECO-CABIN really opens up to the fresh sea air, cool breezes, and winter sun by using disappearing sliding glass nanawall in a structural frame. (3D BIM Model by ECO)

Want more room and better weather protection? The same design can be easily modified to add a loft sleeping area and roof covering the whole deck area, creating a completely different look from the same basic ECO-CABIN design.

Our basic home design message?  Consider designing smaller & smarter.

An extreme example is this coastal version of the compact 1250 sf '99kHouse'. This award winning design by the Architectural team of ORA-Hybrid of Seattle was completed in Houston in 2009 using Eco-Holdings' structural engineering.
